This is a good one.
This is actually a request from Snelly himself, with his memory of the time.
Now this photo (below) was Snelly's first publicity picture for the station in 1989 when he was 19 years old. When this picture was taken, Nigel Williams and Laura Penn were also having their photo taken (Nigel and Laura were also an 'item' at the time)……but before they had their photo taken, they started to put make-up on.
Well, when Snelly, a boy from Breck Road saw this he was taken a little aback. He was thinking, "Ooer, I'm not sure about this. It's a bit of a nancy thing to do."
In the end Nigel and Laura's pictures turned out to look very good, only…………look at Nigel's ears…………they don't half look like Mr. Spocks.
If you see this Nige, remember it's Snelly's memory, I didn't call you Mr. Spock.
Oh no, not me.
I only think that maybe you should have got Laura to give your hair a blow-wave and a bit of hairspray………imagine what Snelly would have said about that!
After saying all that, Tony…………I'm not sure which is worse, wearing make-up or
wearing an earring………ha ha.
