Nige. I set up this website with my good friend Carl who I first met working in Hospital Radio (Radio Broadgreen). We both found we had very similar interests in radio and from there a great friendship began. Our main interest has always been in the old days of 194 Radio City and we decided to set up this site because no one else has done it. We've both been lucky in that we've also worked at Radio City, so we were able to build on our research of the station during our years there. I worked as a producer/tech-op/co-presenter and I also worked in Commercial Production, making the adverts that were played on many stations up and down the country, not just at Radio City. I was even nominated for a few advertising awards. You'll find some of my commercials on this page. (below) I enjoy working in radio and especially having had the opportunity to work in one of my favourite stations, being able to meet and work with those people who had only been a voice in a box.
Carl. When I first met Nige, I told him that I was the S.A. (Station Assistant) for Radio Broadgreen. This impressed him for a few seconds until he realised that he too was an S.A. for the station. This was the beginning of a long-term friendship between us. I listened to 194 Radio City from that very first broadcast in 1974 and I've spent many a time recording and listening to various programmes over the years. I've met many of the presenters and reminisced with them about the old days. They've been quite impressed with my knowledge and memory of their programmes and events. That's where I've been able to contribute quite a bit to this website by passing on my knowledge to Nige. Many of the pictures on this site have come from my collection.
